"Anatomy of hand...Draw hands as continuation of gesture...With hand fully flexed palm makes almost right angle to arm...Thumb is fastened on to hand. A complete unit in itself it does not have anything to do with actual gesture. Makes a lid. (has one less bone than fingers)...Fingers taper toward middle finger tip. Lengths of bone which fasten middle finger is longest. Length of thumb is same as middle finger...A suggestion of squareness in finger section...December 1941"
